- Tile-drafting strategy
- 2–4 players
- ~10-minute matches
The calmest cutthroat game you’ll ever play.
Calçada is a strategy duel inspired by Portugal’s hand-laid stone streets. Draft tiles, build your wall — and remember: every stone you take is a stone your rival can’t have.

Easy to learn. Hard to put down.
One round to learn
Take tiles, lay stone, score patterns. The rules fit on a coaster — your first match doubles as the tutorial.
Every pick is a small knife
You and your rival draft from the same stones. The tile you take is the tile they needed. The best move is rarely the obvious one.
Ten minutes, then "one more"
Short enough for a coffee break. Deep enough that you’ll replay the third round in your head at midnight.
Draft. Lay. Score.
Draft from a factory
Stones are dealt into open factories. Choose a color, take your share.
Lay them into your wall
Slot stones into a pattern line; complete it and it lays onto your wall. Stones that overflow drop to the floor — and the floor costs points.
Score and go again
Your wall pays out at round's end. The highest score when the game ends takes the match.
That’s the whole loop. The depth is in the order — Play a real match
Born on the streets of Lisbon.
Calçada portuguesa is the craft of paving streets in hand-cut limestone and basalt — set stone by stone by artisans called calceteiros, in waves and patterns you can still walk across Rossio Square and Copacabana beach. The game is made of the same idea: five minerals, laid one at a time, into something worth keeping.
- Ochre
- Iron red
- Verdigris
- Cobalt
- Basalt
Five stones, five emblems — readable without color, in sunlight, by everyone.
There’s always a game.
The honest bot
Three strengths, Apprentice to Grandmaster. It never peeks at hidden information and never gets a lucky "algorithm" — it plays by the same rules you do. Beat it, and you earned it.
Quick match
Tap once and get paired with a stranger who wants a game as much as you do.
Private lobby
Open a lobby, share the code, play with up to four.
Pass & play
One phone, two players, zero internet. The tray-table classic.
Take it with you.
The browser is the free taste. The app is the keeper.
Play anywhere
The bot and pass & play work fully offline. Planes count.
Full-screen and fast
Native feel, no browser chrome, instant launch from your home screen.
One email at launch. Nothing else, ever.
The mobile game we couldn’t find. So we built it.
- No ads. Not between matches, not in corners, not ever.
- No energy bars. Your tenth game costs what your first did: nothing.
- No pay-to-win. Nothing for sale changes who wins.
- An honest bot. No peeking, no rubber-banding — strength is the only lever.
Just a strategy game, made the way board games are made.
Fair questions.
How long is a match?
About ten minutes head-to-head; a little longer with three or four players.
Is it hard to learn?
You'll learn it in your first round — the game teaches you as you play. Getting good is the fun part.
Do I need an account?
No — the bot and pass & play need no account. Online matches (Quick Match and private lobbies) need a free account.
Can I play offline?
Yes — in the app, the bot and pass & play work with no connection.
Free — so what's the catch?
There isn’t one. No ads, no timers, nothing for sale that wins games.
Does my progress carry between browser and app?
Your account carries — sign in and your stats, friends, and online matches are the same in the browser and the app, because it's one login. Solo and pass-and-play games stay on the device you play them on.
What about iPhone?
Calçada runs in any phone's browser today. A native iOS app isn't announced yet — Android comes first.
Your first wall is waiting.
